The new ‘General Data Protection Regulation’ (GDPR) that comes into effect on 25 May 2018 to create a unified data protection legislation across all EU member states that all countries within the European Union must comply with it.

GDPR will not only affect the way companies collect, use, and manage personal data within EU countries. It will also effect data processing by companies around the world dealing with countries in the EU as they will also have to comply with EU regulations since EU businesses may not deal with data processors that do not have a General Data Protection Regulations or a compliant Privacy Policy in place to protect consumers data.

We use our own bespoke technology but one really has full access to our site data as sensitive areas are encrypted. All admin area access is logged and unauthorised access is not allowed. Any data or information supplied or collected will only be used for legitimate interests or for the purposes of running a holiday rental or real estate business that is designed to connect users with property owners, managers or agents and vice versa via online communication systems or email, information may also be used to improve or enhance user experience, improve effectiveness of marketing and increase bookings.

We will endeavour to ensure that information we hold is safe, secure, accurate and fit for the pupose it was intended and ensure that users are able to selectively opt-in or opt-out of any marketing communications. HolidayVillas.net acts as a publisher of holiday homes and villas on a subcription or commission basis and as such we may hold contact information supplied about registered property owners, property managers, agents and advertisers who supply contact details so that users may book direct with owner or via an online booking system that allows owners to contact user using email supplied.

Owners are given access to update any details they wish to publish although in the interest of security and prevent spam we will not publish contact details unless it is in the interest of both parties to do so.

We may collect certain data on vistors who browse through our site and make booking enquiries via our online availability and bookings system that logs all enquiries for online approval and or collects IP addresses for verification or security purposes. We may contact persons on our email list for legitimate interest reasons to keep people informed of our website, special offers, newsletters or provide relevant marketing information with opt-out button. In the meantime we will continue to keep users on our mailing list updated periodically with info and newsletters.
